Dr. Gardner holds a B.S. in Modeling and Simulation Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering from Old Dominion University. He discovered his passion for medicine while designing medical training simulations at Eastern Virginia Medical School, which led him to pursue an M.D. there. Dr. Gardner completed an internship in General Surgery and an Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2024, he joined Peninsula Radiology, where he continues to practice in the field of vascular and interventional radiology.

Dr. Gardner’s areas of interest within vascular and interventional radiology include interventional oncology, particularly percutaneous ablations, transarterial chemoembolization, and transarterial radioembolization. He is also passionate about trauma interventions, including embolization for bleeding. Dr. Gardner specializes in pulmonary embolism thrombectomy, providing life-saving interventions for patients with acute pulmonary embolism. Additionally, he has expertise in uterine artery embolization and prostate artery embolization, offering minimally invasive treatments to improve patient outcomes. His other areas of interest include minimally invasive biopsies, treatment of gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and the management of deep venous thrombosis. He also performs image-guided drainage procedures, including those for the biliary and genitourinary systems, as well as vascular access.

Dr. Gardner lives in Williamsburg, VA with his loving and supportive wife and two daughters. Outside of work, his hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, camping, watching horror movies, reading sci-fi/fantasy novels, and mountain biking.
