Neuroradiology

Overview

Neuroradiology is a sub-specialty of radiology focusing on diagnosing abnormalities of the Brain, Spine, and Peripheral Nervous System. It also characterizes abnormalities of the Head and Neck, including the Eyes, Ears, Nose/Sinuses, and Throat.

Peninsula Radiological Associates has three fellowship trained neuroradiologists who work in close collaboration with Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuro-Interventional/Stroke services, ENT, Ophthamology, Radiation Oncology/Gamma knife, and Endocrinology. We attend weekly conferences where difficult and unusual cases are discussed with a multi-specialty approach regarding diagnosis and different potential treatments.

All modalities of radiology including plain X-ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET, and standard MRI and CT examinations are offered throughout the Riverside health care system. In addition, we offer advanced imaging techniques including CT and MR angiography with 3D-reconstruction, MRI and CT Perfusion, CT-myelography, MRI spectroscopy, and MRI-CSF flow studies. We provide rapid imaging and diagnosis for stroke patients for Riverside Regional Medical Centers Comprehensive Stroke Center, which provides the most advanced stroke therapy available. When indicated, biopsies of lesions of the Head, Neck, and Spine are performed. Sedation is available for patients requiring it.
